Sometimes to change your state of affairs, you need to change your mindset. As Advisors, our mindset is influenced by our environment, the culture of the firm, culture of the branch you’re a part of and even the others around you that you view as role models.
Our perspective can be shaped by many of these factors and can be a driving force behind how we grow and whether we can achieve success at all.
Without realizing it, you can become bounded or limited to a mindset that you must only pursue the models embraced by your native environment, i.e. the firm’s approach, or common practices in your branch, or even the methods, techniques, marketing models, operation models and client service models employed by Advisors with larger AUM practices in your periphery.
Depending on your particular circumstance this could either work to your advantage or you face the predicament of conditioning your mindset in a way that limits your views and limits your opportunities.
